BRIEF OVERVIEW: This poetry book is a celebration of individual
characteristics that make children unique and special. In the book we meet a
girl who is a tomboy, a boy who loves science, and a girl who is a ballerina.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Children will pair up with
another person they normal don’t pair up with in the classroom and share their
culture with one another. They will explain their background and different
celebrations that may make them unique. The students will then make a diagram
that shows what they have in common and what is different.
