BRIEF OVERVIEW: People of an island find a man sitting on their shore and immediately reject him because he is different. They lock him in a goat pen, refuse him work, and feed him scraps they would normally feed a pig. It is a story about refugees, xenophobia, racism, multiculturalism, social politics, and human rights.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Students will rewrite the story and tell what they would do if they found a homeless man on an island.
