Overview: This book helps children develop and improve their sibling relationships. It gives useful tips on how to handle conflict, privacy issues, jealousy, and fairness, with the end result hopefully being friendship.
Activity: I will ask students to write down ten things they learned to help improve their sibling relationships. I would also ask if they would refer this book to a friend, why/why not?

BRIEF OVERVIEW: Roberta James is a girl who just moved to Baker School and this story is about her first day encounters with the differesnt groups. It shows how everybody is different and unique in their own way.

INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Students will participate in a group activity of listing the different qualities about themselves. Then the class will come together to write down different qualities on a big notepad. Students will compare and contrast the differences among themselves and how each has something in common with another classmate.

Brief Overview: The story of 2 little boys, one from Sydney, Australia, and the other from Morocco, Africa. Each displays a day in their lives and how they somehow became interconnected.
Integrated Activity: With a set of partners, elaborate on the story, one student being the Australian child, and one the Middle Eastern child. Each student would walk their partner through the pictures and explain what is happening. This works on emergent reading and making meaning from pictures.
