GENRE: Children’s
Wordless Picture Book
BRIEF OVERVIEW: This book has fantastic illustrations that allow children to follow delightfully
as the book tunes them into pictures. The dog, Carl takes the infant in the
book through a fun journey as the infant’s mother leaves the house. The
pictures show great meaning of what is happening throughout the journey.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Once the students hear the story, they can go back to
their desk and makeup a different story, one similar to Good Dog Carl, with pictures
that describes wordless text. They can tell their own story in front of the
class.
