BRIEF OVERVIEW: A young boy offers a mouse a cookie which opens up a whole mess of wants from the mouse. After abusing the young boys hospitality, the story starts over when the mouse wants a glass of milk.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Start lesson by reading the book aloud to the class. After the story has been read, each student is to write one question they can come up with from the book on a sticky note and place it on the board. Each student is to pick up three sticky notes and answer the questions to a peer to get credit. When they are pick up three chocolate chip cookies from the teacher, before they can eat it, they are to indicate how many tens (cookie) and how many ones (chocolate chips). While finishing their snack, students are to listen to the musical version of the book via YouTube.com and analyze it and how they felt about it with a peer.
