She paved the way by setting free over 100,000 slaves from oppression by the Whites through the Underground Railroad. She faced many adversities and even risked her own life so that blacks would be set free.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Having the students do a web report of two influential people in the 1950s who helped out a large group of people through acts of bravery and courage.
