Welcome to: A Book or Two: Children's Literature Reviews, a blog site that offers information on new, classic, and favorite children's literature, reviewed by university professors, classroom teachers, librarians, and those studying to become teachers. We hope you will find "just the right book" to share with others. Our goal is to keep the site updated with information about children's authors, book awards, and new releases. Each entry will include the book cover picture, a brief overview, bibliographic information, and suggested uses for families, librarians, and teachers. The Very Lonely Firefly

BRIEF OVERVIEW: In this book a firefly was born, but it could not find any more fireflies. He kept seeing lights but it would never be fireflies. He searched and searched until finally he found a whole group of fireflies.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Give students different sizes of circles including 3 big and 10 small circles. Then give them 2 big hearts. Instruct the students to glue the parts together and make a firefly. They will also draw eyes and a mouth on the dragonfly.
