BRIEF OVERVIEW: At the age of 12, William Kamkwamba figured out how to bring electricity to his village that was hit by drought. He built a functioning windmill out of junkyard scraps.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: Have students reflect on how brave William had to be to even think he could accomplish such a great task. Also have students reflect on how the community felt to have running water again. Once they have reflected, have students draw their version of a windmill.
