Welcome to: A Book or Two: Children's Literature Reviews, a blog site that offers information on new, classic, and favorite children's literature, reviewed by university professors, classroom teachers, librarians, and those studying to become teachers. We hope you will find "just the right book" to share with others. Our goal is to keep the site updated with information about children's authors, book awards, and new releases. Each entry will include the book cover picture, a brief overview, bibliographic information, and suggested uses for families, librarians, and teachers. BRIEF OVERVIEW: Isabel loves reading stories about princesses, and she thinks purple is the best color in the world. She reads about a princess who goes on a quest and winds a magic jewel. So she’s determined to do the same.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY:The students will think about the last time they’ve won something. They will be given a worksheet where they have to identify all the words with short a sounds. When this is done correctly, they should have a purple trophy colored. Under that trophy they will put what they have won and their name.
