Welcome to: A Book or Two: Children's Literature Reviews, a blog site that offers information on new, classic, and favorite children's literature, reviewed by university professors, classroom teachers, librarians, and those studying to become teachers. This is the story of how a young girl became a player on the first All American Girls Professional Baseball League. This is a great story of how in the 1940’s women had to be determined and have large dreams. This is a book that celebrates women and their contributions to American history.
Integrated Idea:
Have the students research in the computer lab different facts about the 1940’s and the different roles of women and men. As a whole group compare how those roles are different today than in the 1940’s.
