Author: Robert Munsch Illustrator: Shelia McGraw
Copyright: 1995
Genre: Contemporary
Reading Level: 1yr+
Book Description: I
love this book, because it has a beyond sweet message but most of all, because
my nan-nan read it to me when I was a little girl. The mother tells her son she
will love him forever and as the story gets toward the end the mother becomes
too old to take care of her son. The son takes care of her the way she always
did for him. The story really touches my heart, because that is what makes
people a family.
Integrated Activity: (4th grade) After reading the story each student will be responsible for writing their own poem
or letter to a loved one that takes care of them each day. We will write the
final draft on fancy paper with a bow. Each student will be able to give their
letter/poem to the loved one they wrote it for.

- Welcome to: A Book or Two: Children's Literature Reviews, a blog site that offers information on new, classic, and favorite children's literature, reviewed by university professors, classroom teachers, librarians, and those studying to become teachers. We hope you will find "just the right book" to share with others. Our goal is to keep the site updated with information about children's authors, book awards, and new releases. Each entry will include the book cover picture, a brief overview, bibliographic information, and suggested uses for families, librarians, and teachers. We will categorize books in several different ways, to facilitate searching.
