BRIEF OVERVIEW:A 13 year old boy was on his way to visit his dad when the plane is was in crashed in the wilderness. He is all alone except for his clothing and a hatchet. Now he must survive with only the hatchet until, hopefully, he is rescued.


INTEGRATED ACTIVITY:  Use student journals to foreshadow what will happen in the following chapters.
