Each entry will include the book cover picture, a brief overview, bibliographic information, and suggested uses for families, librarians, and teachers. We will categorize books in several different ways, to facilitate searching.

Grandpa's Face by Eloise Greenfield

Author:  Eloise Greenfield
Illustrator:  Floyd Cooper
Copyright: 1988

Genre: Realistic Fiction
Reading Level: ages 5-8

Book Description:
This is a beautiful story of a little girl named Tamika and her grandfather who lives with her. Grandpa is an actor and one day when she sees him practicing a “mean” face she doesn’t understand. This book is great for explain how to confront someone you love and to show different family dynamics. Great illustrations in this book.

Integrated Idea:
This book shares how actors have to be able to change their faces and present to be someone else. Have the students get in pairs and play the “mirror” game where one student will copy the other student. Reviewed by Emily Brannon
