BRIEF OVERVIEW: Chewing gum has been around for centuries, but Walter Diemer, an accountant that worked in a bubble gum factory, thought that bubble gum would be a bit more entertaining. He mixed ingredients until he finally got it. Now Fleet Corporation delivers it to small stores and big stores. Walter Diemer didn’t get rich from his invention of bubble gum but he made kids happy.
INTEGRATED ACTIVITY: I would see if it was possible to create our own bubble gum in the classroom. If not something that is chewy that the people used throughout the centuries as bubble gum.
